Frequently Asked Questions

Is it confidential?

As per my professional Code of Ethics, our communication is strictly confidential, and no information will be released without your knowledge and written consent. However, there are limits to confidentiality, which include a legal duty to report information about suspected or potential abuse and neglect of children or vulnerable adults. Confidentiality may also be waived on clinical judgment that a client is at serious risk of harming themselves or others. If such a situation arises, I will make every effort to discuss it with you before taking any action, and I will limit my disclosure to what is necessary.

What if I need to cancel?

48 hours notice is required for cancellation of scheduled appointments. This time frame allows for appointments to be offered to those clients who may be on a waiting list. Appointments that are not canceled within this time frame may incur a charge of the full appointment fee.

What can I expect?

I am based in Edmonton, N9, and offer face to face or skype therapy sessions.  Appropriate COVID measures are in place.  Each session is 50 minutes and at our first session, we will get to know each other and complete the initial assessment. This will mean identifying the issues that are bringing you to therapy.  I will offer you my first impressions of what our therapy sessions might include and what treatment plan I recommend.   I will adapt my therapeutic style and approach to meet your needs utilising the most appropriate therapeutic approach.
