Konstantina is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She obtained  doctoral qualification in counselling psychology with the University of East London following completion of an MSc in Mental Health at King’s College in 2005.  Since then she has been treating patients within the NHS and private sector, including the Priory, in 1 to 1 and group settings for adults and adolescents.  She is experienced at treating the following:

 

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Low self-esteem

  • Obsessive-Complulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Self- harm

  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

  • Substance abuse

  • Eating disorders

Konstantina adopts a multitude of therapeutic approaches and will tailor the therapy to the individual.  She is qualified in the following:   (See tab for further detail)

  • Dialectual Based Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Behaviour Based Therapy (CBT)

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Compassion-based therapy

  • Mentalisation based therapy (MBT)

Konstantinas aim is to guide clients towards a life with less self-criticism and self-judgement, subsequently reducing emotional suffering.  She has a special interest in working with patients with a history of traumatic experience such as abuse or rape.  In addition she facilitates assertiveness and anger management workshops.

 

Konstantina offers therapy from her practice located Edmonton, North London (N9).  She is fluent in Greek.  Online therapy via Skype is available. Insurance: BUPA, Aviva, Vitality, CIGNA, Simply Health and other small insurance companies.

Konstantina is also a qualified fitness instructor and believes strongly in the benefit of exercise on Mental Health- (Healthy body & Healthy Mind).  She specialises in High-intensity interval training (HIIT) and leads weekly classes in the North London area.
